The village rises on the slope of a high hill at 420 meters above sea level.

A castle once crowned the summit; today only a few ruins remain, as much of its stone and masonry was reused in the construction of other buildings.

Alice offers a spectacular vantage point over the Monferrato landscape: rolling vineyards framed by a sweeping arc of mountains, from the Apennines to the Alps.

An ancient settlement, Alice Bel Colle shared the fate of the region, passing under the rule of the Marquises of Monferrato, the Gonzaga family, and later the House of Savoy.

In more recent times, the village also played a significant role in heroic episodes during the Second World War.

Winegrowing here is remarkable: around 100 producers cultivate 350 hectares of vineyards, represented by the Alice Bel Colle Winery.

The three main grape varieties—Barbera, Moscato, and Brachetto—yield wines of strikingly intense aromas.

Locals like to say that these wines are tasted first with the nose and only then with the palate, a motto you can experience for yourself at the village wine shop on the main square, the Bottega del Vino.
