San Cristoforo
In the Upper Monferrato, at 310 meters above sea level on a wide plateau bordered by the Lemme and Albedosa streams, lies the wine-producing village of San Cristoforo. Although its territory is relatively small, it is by no means less interesting.
Silvano D’Orba
Where the Po Valley begins to ripple, giving rise to the first hills of Upper Monferrato, and where the gold-bearing Piota stream flows into the Orba River, lies the village of Silvano d’Orba, home to around 1,900 residents.
Montaldeo
On the hills stretching toward the Apennines, at an altitude of 300 meters on a rather steep ridge, surrounded by woods and rows of vineyards, lies the town of Montaldeo.
Mornese
Nestled against the Ligurian Apennines on the last slopes of the Upper Monferrato hills, between the Lemme Valley and the Garzente Valley, along the Via del Sale, lies the village of Mornese, a municipality in the Ovada area with just over 730 inhabitants.
Capriata D’Orba
The town appears to have been inhabited since prehistoric times, as shown by archaeological finds from pre-Roman and Roman periods. Its name first appears in documents dated 973.
Castelletto D’Orba
Nestled among the hills at an altitude of about 200 meters, on an alluvial plain formed by debris carried over centuries by the Orba stream—now long covered with grass—the village rises on its right bank.
