Moncestino has about 200 inhabitants and covers an area of approximately 6.4 km², including plains, the Po River, and the hill (278 m) where the town center is located.

It is a small and peaceful hill town overlooking the Vercelli and Casale plains, the Po River, and the Alps. Located at the far edge of the province of Alessandria, it borders the provinces of Turin and Vercelli, and is about 20 minutes from the Chivasso Est exit of the Milan-Turin highway and about 45 minutes from the Casale Nord exit of the Gravellona-Genova highway. The quality of life, combined with the protection and enhancement of the territory and local traditions, are the main values of the community, which has always been closely linked to agriculture.

The coat of arms and banner of the municipality of Moncestino were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on September 15, 1988. The banner is white.

Among the town’s monuments and points of interest are the Church and the Town Hall. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in the second half of the 18th century.
Regarding the castle: on the top of the hill, 300 meters high, stands its construction, built on the ruins of an older castle dating back to 1245, which belonged to the Counts of Miroglio, vassals of the Marquis of Monferrato, Bonifacio II. It was destroyed in 1633 by the army of Victor Amadeus I during the war for the succession of Monferrato, in which the Counts of Miroglio sided with the Gonzaga. Rebuilt in Baroque style in 1650, it features a two-tiered Baroque façade divided by pilasters and string courses. The façade is completed by a tower and a pediment, with the two central pilasters extending into the pediment.
