Launched in 2021 and officially recognized by the Piedmont Region, the Gran Monferrato Wine & Food Trail was created within the Gran Monferrato Derthona Gavi Consortium to celebrate local tourism, landscapes, and food and wine traditions across the province of Alessandria.

The Trail links three key areas of the province – Casale Monferrato, Acqui Terme, and Ovada—while also crossing the Alessandria plain shaped by its rivers. It unfolds into four themed routes: the Grignolino Trail (Casale area), the Wine Rivers Trail (plains), the Aromatics Trail (Acqui area), and the Dolcetto Trail (Ovada area). Each route highlights the territory’s vineyard landscapes, family-run wineries, welcoming accommodations, as well as its artistic and historic heritage.
